Welcome to Christ the King School

Dear CTK students, families and friends,

‘Tis the end of a wonderfully fruitful school year. Our pre-schoolers danced outside in water sprays, and “graduated” to kindergarten.” Our kindergartners, “graduated” to first grade. Graduation for the 8th graders was our high point of religious and academic success.

Our 2nd graders received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. They also crowned the Blessed Mother in May.   Our Learning Tree program touched nature, fine arts, and other creative and academic delights. 1st graders posed as United States presidents and delivered speeches to the school community. The 3rd graders had a real live 55 gal aquarium, and religiously cared for the fish and plants. They learned and practiced the 3R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.   Kindergartners held their annual father/daughter and mother/son Sweetheart dance in February.
4th graders put on a play in true costume of Civil War days. They displayed the books they had authored, too. The 8th graders added a new twist to Little Red Riding Hood. It was a comedy play for everyone who wanted to laugh out loud. 6th graders built an aquarium in the science lab, and took pictures of themselves swimming with the sharks.   The 6th and 7th graders took a field trip to Indy for a once in a lifetime viewing of the King Tut Exhibit.

Our band students won in a spring competition, and later performed at Memorial High School. The Holocaust was tenderly portrayed by 8th graders pictures of their own families against web site pictures of Holocaust victims. 5th graders prepared and narrated a PowerPoint presentation of the 8 Beatitudes – VERY MOVING!

The culminating school events were the Fine Arts evening; the closing Mass where the 8th graders passed on “THE LIGHT OF CHRIST” to 7th graders; and the delightful Field Day for all students. The colored (red, light blue, orange, green, yellow, dark blue, purple) teams were mixed with all ages per team. The challenging, fun day ended with a dance competition! It is to be noted that Art, Music, and PE are integral parts of our powerful religious and academic program.

A Message from our Principal

Christ the King’s pastor, parishioners, principal, faculty and staff are dedicated to the Catholic Faith and its values; committed to excellence in academics and the arts; and practice firm, fair, loving and creative discipline – ALWAYS acknowledging the dignity of the student. CTK offers a family-focused environment where our goal is to help develop children with the faith, will and intelligence to determine their own destinies.

CHRIST JESUS is the reason for Christ the King School. Indeed, our school stands as a hallmark of educational excellence in Evansville and in Indiana. CTK continues to embrace values over 2000 years old, where Christ is the unseen but ever-present teacher … the model of our faculty and staff … and the inspiration of our students.

Together, Christ the King School AND our families are educating our children for the present and the future. CTK students excel in academics, technology and the arts while demonstrating cooperation and compassion in their relationships with their teachers, friends and families.

All are welcome at CTK, no matter class, creed, color, ethnicity, age (3-14) or ability. Choosing a school for your children is one of the most important decisions you will face as a parent. I welcome you to visit our beautiful school and parish. You will find small class sizes, active families and parents and most importantly, a loving - Christ-centered – fun-filled environment where children flourish.
