What's New in the CTK Library?

Christ the King Catholic School library is open to student and teachers during school hours, M-F 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. August thru May.

All books need to go through our library’s computers to check-in or check-out books.

The library inventory of over 8200 books consists of many Newbery, Caldecott and Coretta Scott King Award winners.  (To see our list of inventory, see link below.)  There is a huge selection of Accelerated Reader (AR) level books ranging from 0.4 to 13.0.  90% of the fiction books are part of the AR program.  The 10% of fiction books that aren’t AR are young children’s readers.  Our Non-fiction selection of books is approximately 70% AR.  (To see our list of AR books, see link below.  The website www.arbookfind.com was used to identify AR levels.)

Learning Tree and Kindergarten students are allowed 1 book per week.  Grades 1 – 8 are allowed 2 books per week.  Books may be renewed at any time, as long as the book is in-hand to renew.  Students doing research projects are allowed as many as they need to complete their work.  Notices are sent to students after a book is overdue for 2 weeks.  No late fees are charged.  In the case of a lost book, the value of each book will be sent home or emailed to parents.

A PTO volunteer assists the Learning Tree thru 3rd grade teachers at each class’s weekly scheduled library time.  All other students are free to look for books when their teachers allow.

Mrs. Weisman’s volunteer hours are as follows:
Monday 12:30 – 2:40 pm, Tuesday 7:30 – 8:30 am & 1:30 – 2:40 pm, Wednesday 12:15 – 2:40 pm, Thursday only start-up and close of library
and Friday 7:30 am – 2:40 pm

Inquires may be sent to ctklibrarian@ctkevv.org.
